ENVISIONING THE SACRED in The Tempera Grassa Mischtechnik

5 day Intensive
October 19th – 23rd, 2015
Monday – Friday 10am – 6pm

Tuition 300 euros

Join us for a 5-day exploration of Vision-into-Craft through the medium of oil painting and egg tempera (Mischtechnik).

Visionary Art explores the spiritual and contemplative power of image-making. In this course, Daniel Mirante will offer a variety of meditations, exercices and readings to inspire the creative imagination & stimulate depth of vision.

Following the pathways & approaches taken by the Old Masters, Daniel will impart the “tempera grassa” version of the Mischtechnik – a layered approach to painting used by Venetian artists of the Renaissance (Bellini, Titian) and revived by Piero Annegoni, which alternates between oil glazes and an egg-tempera emulsion weighed toward the oil.

Students will explore their creativity in a gentle & supportive environment while familiarizing themselves with the time-tested principles of painterly craftsmanship. This course is suitable for beginners and experiences artists alike.
